My name is Frances Pearlman, and I am a Registered Practitioner of Chinese Herbal Medicine based in Uckfield, East Sussex. I’m dedicated to helping people achieve long-term wellness through natural, personalised treatment. My approach combines compassion, clinical experience, and the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine to address both the symptoms and the root causes of illness.
My own journey with Chinese medicine began after years of living with chronic atopic eczema — a condition that Western medicine struggled to resolve and where conventional medicine offered limited solutions. Discovering the effectiveness of herbal medicine changed my life, inspiring me to retrain as a practitioner after a career as a corporate lawyer and within the financial services industry.
I completed my Foundation in Chinese Medicine and Postgraduate Diploma in Chinese Herbal Medicine with the White Crane Academy, where I was honoured to receive the British Herbal Medicine Association’s Frank Power Award for strong aptitude and achievement — recognised as the top final-year herbal student across all UK professional courses. I am a proud member of both the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM) and the British Herbal Medicine Association (BHMA).
My clinical focus continues to grow around dermatology and chronic inflammatory conditions, alongside digestive health, hormonal balance, and general wellbeing. I am currently studying Practical Dermatology in Chinese Medicine with renowned expert Mazin Al-Khafaji, and in 2026 I’ll begin training in Tui Na, a medical massage technique within Chinese medicine.
At Sun Rae, my goal is to make Chinese herbal medicine accessible to those seeking safe, effective, and holistic care. From my clinic in Uckfield, I provide both in-person and online consultations, supporting patients locally and across the UK. Whether you’re living with a chronic condition, seeking balance, or exploring new approaches to health, I’m here to guide you on your journey toward greater comfort and wellbeing.
My inspiration comes from those with unmet needs within the conventional medical system, and finding the ways in which Chinese medicine can bridge those gaps is my purpose
